KANKAKEE, Ill. – No. 11 Parkland baseball fell to No. 7 Kankakee Community College (23-3) on Tuesday, April 1.
Adison Worthman led the offense with three hits, and
Alex Schimmel added two. Michael Boyce (1 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB) took the loss, pitching 1.2 innings and striking out two.Â

The Cavaliers wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, scoring six of their eight runs in the 1st inning. Parkland (18-8) responded in the 2nd inning, pushing across a run on a fielder's choice to cut the deficit.
Alex Schimmel scored on a sacrifice fly from
Mark Mennecke, followed by
Jax Hisle reaching on an error, bringing the Cobras within striking distance at 6-3 in the 4th inning. Parkland continued to inch closer, and eventually tied it 6-6 in the 6th inning thanks to an
Andrew Gallegos sacrifice fly. The Cavaliers capitalized on a wild pitch and timely hitting in the bottom of the 7th to regain the lead, and the Cobras were unable to score again, falling to Kankakee 8-6 on the road.
Up next, the Cobras play a home doubleheader against Danville Area Community College (5-21) on Saturday, April 5. The first game is scheduled for 12:00 pm at the Parkland College Baseball Field.Â
