SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The No. 4 ranked Parkland College golf team finished in second place at the NJCAA Region 24 Championship on Tuesday, April 29. The Cobras sat in first place after the first two rounds, but Heartland Community College pulled ahead in the third round to claim the title. The Cobras have placed second in their last three tournaments.Â

After shooting two even-par rounds on the first day of the tournament,
Ludvig Granlund fired a 74 to finish in third place overall.
Cal Johnson (222, +6) tied for fifth, four strokes behind his teammate.
Isaac Molloy (226, +10) shot his best round on the second day of the tournament to finish in seventh, and
Brando Signorini (236, +20) and
Marcos Park (238, +22) landed in the top 20 to round out the scoring.
Ludvig Granlund and
Cal Johnson each received All-Region honors.Â

"We fought hard this entire month," Parkland head coach Nick Berger said. "This tournament was no different. We battled all spring with tough weather conditions. Even though we didn't come home with the win, we got our ticket to the big dance."

Up next, the Cobras will compete at the NJCAA DII National Championship at the par-72 Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana. The tournament runs from Tuesday, May 20th, to Friday, May 23rd.
