Box Score 2 ROCKFORD, Ill. — Parkland College Volleyball continued its hot start to the 2025 season, picking up two more sweeps on Saturday at the Opening Weekend Tournament. The Cobras rolled past Schoolcraft College 3-0 (25-11, 26-24, 25-14) before closing the day with another decisive 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-16) win over Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
In the opener against Schoolcraft, Parkland relied on a balanced offensive attack led by Natalie Alexander's nine kills on a .692 hitting percentage. Addie Beekman chipped in 6 kills and 13 digs, while Bella McKinney and Sammi Christman each added 5 and 6 kills, respectively. Setter Hailey Warfel spread the offense with 26 assists, and libero Anna McEwen steadied the back row with 13 digs as the Cobras cruised to victory.
The Cobras carried that momentum into the matchup with Kalamazoo Valley, where Beekman again led the way with 10 kills and 15 digs. Shay McMillen followed closely with 13 kills, while McKinney hit an efficient .667 with kills. Warfel directed the offense with 20 assists, and Anna McEwen anchored the defense with 23 digs. Parkland's front line controlled the net, with Sophia Ray and Alexander combining for 5 blocks to secure the sweep and a perfect 5-0 start to the season.
For the final day of the tournament, Parkland will play Monroe Community College at 9:30AM and Palm Beach State College at 11:30AM.Â
