Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Parkland College Volleyball made a statement in its first home match of the season, sweeping Lincoln Land Community College 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-17). The Cobras improved to 8-0 on the year with a balanced effort on both sides of the ball.
Shay McMillen paced the offense with 9 kills, while Addie Beekman added 10 kills and 14 receptions. Freshman Bella McKinney chipped in 6 kills, and middle blocker Sammi Christman was efficient with 3 kills and 7 digs. Setter Hailey Warfel directed the attack with 28 assists and added 5 kills of her own, helping the Cobras hit .191 as a team.
Defensively, libero Anna McEwen was a standout with 23 digs, while Natalie Alexander controlled the net with 5 block assists. Riley Reis and Christman also contributed defensively with multiple blocks.
Up next, the Cobras will travel to Perrysburg, Ohio, for the Owens Invitational. The three-day tournament begins on Friday, August 29th.Â
