Box Score 2 PERRYSBURG, Ohio — Parkland College Volleyball continued its dominance on Saturday at the Owens Invitational, sweeping both Southwestern Michigan College and Mott Community College to remain undefeated on the season. The Cobras improved to 12-0 with the pair of victories, extending their winning streak with balanced play on both sides of the net.
In the opener against Southwestern Michigan, Parkland controlled the match from start to finish, winning by set scores of 25-10, 25-13, and 25-16. Addie Beekman paced the offense with 10 kills and 12 digs, while freshman Bella McKinney was highly efficient with 9 kills on a .615 hitting percentage. Natalie Alexander added 7 kills and hit .500, and Shay McMillen chipped in 8 kills. Setter Hailey Warfel directed the attack with 31 assists and added 5 kills, while libero Anna McEwen anchored the back row with 19 digs.
The Cobras carried that momentum into their second match, sweeping Mott Community College 25-12, 25-17, 25-18. McMillen led the offense with 13 kills on .290 hitting, while Beekman contributed 6 kills and 12 digs. McKinney and Alexander each tallied 5 kills, while Sophia Ray added 4 kills and 2 block assists. Warfel continued her strong setting performance with 27 assists, and McEwen shined defensively with a match-high 30 digs as Parkland closed the day with another convincing sweep.
For the final day of the tournament, Parkland is scheduled to play two matches on August 31st against St. Johns River Community College at 9:00AM and Lansing Community College at 10:45AM.
