NORMAL, Ill. — September 13, 2025 — The No. 6-ranked Parkland College volleyball team closed out the Heartland Invitational on Saturday, recording back-to-back sweeps over Rock Valley College (25-21, 25-17, 25-15) and Danville Area Community College (25-15, 25-14, 25-20). With the two wins, the Cobras finished the weekend 4-0, improving their season record to 21-1.
Parkland posted a .270 hitting percentage as a team and spread the offense across multiple hitters in the showdown with Rock Valley. Shay McMillen paced the Cobras with 12 kills, while Addie Beekman added 9 and Bella McKinney chipped in 6 on an efficient .429 hitting. Setter Hailey Warfel ran the offense with 27 assists to go along with 4 digs, while libero Anna McEwen anchored the back row with a match-high 20 digs.
The Cobras carried their momentum into the afternoon, recording 40 kills and hitting .231 as a unit against Danville. McMillen again led the way with 9 kills, while Beekman tallied 8 and Natalie Alexander contributed 6 kills and 2 blocks in the middle. Warfel dished out 23 assists, and Anna McEwen added 15 digs to secure the team's defensive effort.
Up next, Parkland returns home for a midweek rematch against Danville Area Community College on September 17th.
