CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — September 17, 2025 — No. 6 Parkland College volleyball team powered past Danville Area Community College (DACC) Wednesday evening in four sets: 25-15, 25-11, 20-25, 25-12. With the victory, Hastings' record of 808 wins now ties the NJCAA all-time active coaching wins record, a testament to over a decade of consistency, championships, and excellence in the Cobra program.
The Cobras (22-1) continued their strong start to the season with a balanced offensive showing. Shay McMillen fueled the attack with a team-high 15 kills and 5 digs, while Addie Beekman added 9 kills, hitting .400 on the night. Sammi Christman contributed 8 kills and 2 blocks, and Natalie Alexander chipped in 4 kills and 5 blocks at a .444 efficiency clip. Setter Hailey Warfel kept the offense flowing with 21 assists, while the Cobra defense held firm behind 14 digs from Beekman and Anna McEwen.
Danville Area challenged Parkland in the third set, taking advantage of Cobra miscues to extend the match, but Parkland regrouped quickly in the fourth to secure the win convincingly.
The Cobras return to action Friday with the 2-day Parkland Fall Challenge, where they match up against No. 15 Des Moines Community College at 11:00AM and No. 7 Kirkwood Community College at 1:00PM.
