Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — September 20, 2025 — The Parkland College volleyball team bounced back Saturday with a pair of victories to wrap up the two-day Parkland Fall Challenge. The Cobras took down Hawkeye Community College in four sets (3-1) before sweeping Lake Michigan College (3-0) in the afternoon.
In the opening match against Hawkeye, Parkland recovered from a narrow first-set loss (25-27) to take control, winning the next three frames 25-20, 25-21, and 25-15. Shay McMillen led the offense with 15 kills, while Hailey Warfel added eight kills and a team-high 36 assists. Defensively, Anna McEwen anchored the back row with 29 digs, and Addie Beekman chipped in 27 of her own.
Parkland carried its momentum into the second match against Lake Michigan, cruising to a sweep with set scores of 25-10, 25-14, and 25-9. Bella McKinney and Natalie Alexander each posted 7 kills, while McMillen tallied a match-high 11. Warfel once again directed the offense with 29 assists, and the Cobra defense limited Lake Michigan to just nine total errors on the night.
With the successful doubleheader, Parkland closed the Fall Challenge on a high note and moves to 24-3 on the season. Next up, the Cobras will take on Lewis & Clark Community College on September 24th in Godfrey, Illinois.
