St. Louis, Mo -- August 30, 2026 -- No. 17 Parkland College men's soccer and Itawamba Community College would both find the net late in the second half on Sunday afternoon, playing to a 1-1 draw in St. Louis.
After a scoreless first 80 minutes, the Cobras would strike first with Nahj Holiday hitting the net on an assist from Johan Cortez to take the lead. However, Itawamba was able to respond, hitting the equalizer in the 88th minute as the Cobras and Indians settled on a draw.Â
The Cobra defense would limit the Indians to just 6 shots for the match while Parkland showed bursts of offense, putting up 14 shots with 8 on goal. Believe Avida would put up 3 shots with 2 being on goal while Holiday and Cortez each put up 2 shots, 1 on goal of their own and goalkeeper Noah Grieshaber would finish with 7 saves at the net for Parkland. The Cobras move to 0-1-1 on the season while Itawamba moves to 2-0-1.
