Final Results

East Moline, Il -- September 22, 2026 -- The Parkland Men's Golf team competed at the Duane Chaney Classic this week at Short Hills Country Club in East Moline. The Cobras battled through the cold and wet weather to finish 10th out of 15 teams.

The Cobras were led by Brady Guenther who finished T28th individually. Guenther finished with a final score of 8 over par through three rounds, including a 74 to finish two over par in the first and final rounds along with a 76 (+4) in round two.

Ashton Hutchinson finished 10 over par after a strong start, finishing with a 72 (+2) in the first two rounds and a 78 (+6) in the final round to finish T34th.

Teammates Jack Astbury and Oscar Jarl would tie for 55th, finishing 16 over par. After shooting an 82 (+10) in round one, Astbury closed out strong with a 75 (+3) in the final two rounds. Jarl's outing was highlighted by a 75 (+3) in the second round of play along with a 77 (+5) in round one and 80 (+8) in round three.

Easton Friedman rounded out the field for Parkland, finishing 17 over par to tie for 62nd. Friedman carded a 77 (+5) in the first two round before finishing the week with a 79 (+7) in the final round.

Head coach Nick Berger commented on the team's performance in East Moline:

"We battled the weather at this event. Round one and two were played in the rain. The final round was not too bad however, cold, windy, and a little rain. Still working to complete rounds. We play well for over half of each round and collapse down the stretch. I think more reps will help fix this over time."

The Cobras will head to Effingham next Monday, September 28th for the MWAC conference championship at Effingham Country Club, teeing off at 8 AM.
