Champaign, Il -- September 22, 2026 -- The Parkland College Men's Soccer team earned their second straight win in comeback fashion over Southwestern Illinois College on Tuesday, winning 4-3 in a back and forth contest.

The Blue Storm attacked first, scoring in the 10th minute on an unassisted goal, but Believe Avida would answer for the Cobras with his first of two goals of the afternoon, scoring off an assist from Marcos Arorez Campa to even the score. The Storm would net another goal in the 40th minute to take a 2-1 lead at the half. Believe Avida would hit the equalizer early in the second half, scoring off an assist from Marcos Arorez Campa once again to tie up the match, but the Storm would have another answer with a goal in the 64th minute to take the lead again at 3-2. Kyoto Mori responded quickly for Parkland with a goal in the 68th minute from Avida to even the score again, and Marcos Arorez Campa hit the net a minute later off Sagi Karagola to put Parkland in front. Despite a valiant effort from the Blue Storm, the Cobras would hang on the win the match 4-3.

Believe Avida and Marcos Arorez Campa each finished with 3 shots, two on frame to lead the Cobras. Avida added two goals and one assist while Arorez Campa added two assists and one goal. Kyotoro Mori and Noah Molitor both finished with two shots, one on frame each as Mori added one goal for the Cobras. Nahj Holiday, Jinwoo Choi, Charlie Dunn, Pierce Cannon and Colin Jackson each put up one shot as the Cobras finished the match with 15 shots, 6 on frame while holding SWIC to 8 shots with 5 on frame for the match. Noah Grieshaber had a big day at the net, finishing with two saves and making some big plays in the final minutes to help preserve the lead.

Head Coach Mark Sikora praised his player's efforts, highlighting the improvements the team has made so far this season:

"We're always trying to improve throughout the season. If we were in a situation like this a couple weeks ago, we would've lost this game. That's just kind of where we were, we weren't believing, not fighting. To come back the way that we did in the second half was just phenomenal. They stayed to the mission, they believed and they came out on top. Marcos up front was everything for us going forward. Even if he's not scoring goals he's demanding a lot of attention and the guys can feed off of that and it opens everything up for us. Noah had that timely penalty save in the second half. That is probably what put us over the top was him saving that, and the energy boost when we scored the game winner. You'll say well, he gave up three goals, but it's not always about that it's about making that timely save. That was probably their best opportunity in the second half and he stood tall."

With the win, the Cobras improve to 2-3-3 on the season while SWIC drops to 3-4-1.
