Champaign, Il -- September 24, 2026 -- The Parkland College Men's Soccer Team played to a 1-1 draw against MWAC opponent John Wood Community College on Thursday afternoon in Champaign.

The Blazers struck first, scoring on a penalty kick to take a 1-0 lead thorugh the first half. The Cobras would hit the equalizer in the 53rd minute thanks to Alexander Williams, who netted his first goal of the season off an assist from Believe Avida to even the score at 1-1. Despite finding some good looks late in the second half, Parkland would not find the net again as the Cobras and Blazers settled for a draw.

The Cobras finished with 18 shots with 6 on frame as a team while holding the Blazers to 4 shots, 3 on frame for the match. Marcos Arorez Campa and Believe Avida led the team, each with 3 shots, 2 on frame. Alexander Williams and Noah Molitor each had 2 shots with 1 on frame each. Charlie Dunn and Sagi Karagola added another 4 shots for the Cobras. Noah Grieshaber and Tom Evers split goalkeeping duties as both finished with 1 save through 45 minutes at the net.

The Cobras move to 2-3-4 (1-0-1 MWAC) on the season while John Wood moves to 3-2-2 (0-0-1 MWAC).
