Box Score Champaign, Il -- September 2, 2026 -- The No. 7th ranked Parkland Volleyball team won their home opener Wednesday night, defeating No. 5 Heartland Community College in a thrilling four set match to earn their first ranked win of the season.

The Cobras set the pace early, jumping out to a 2-0 lead after winning the first two sets of the match (25-23, 25-23). Heartland would take the third set 28-26 to avoid the shutout, but the Cobras responded in the fourth set winning 25-23 to secure the win over the Hawks. With the win, the Cobras improve to 11-1 on the season, while Heartland drops to 4-3.

Reis McFarland and Alayna Briggs led the attack for the Cobras, with McFarland finishing with 20 kills while Briggs added 17 of her own. Khloe Stear finished with 36 digs to lead the defensive effort while Chloe Eeten added 14 of her own as the Cobras combined for a season high 108 total digs in the match. Eeten was once again the pacesetter for the Cobras, finishing with a season high 43 assists.
