East Peoria, Il -- September 30, 2026 -- The No. 5 Parkland volleyball team closed out September with a top-15 showdown at Illinois Central College on Wednesday. The Cobras held on to win a back and forth 5-set battle and stay undefeated in MWAC play, winning 3-2 (14-25, 25-22, 25-21, 18-25, 15-6).
After falling behind in the first set 14-25, the Cobras bounced back to take a 2-1 lead in the match after winning the next two sets 25-22 and 25-21. The Cougars were able to force a fifth set with a 25-18 win in set four, but Parkland took control in the final set, winning 15-6 to take the match 3-2, earning their 30th win of the season and 21st in a row.
The Cobras were led by
Reis McFarland, who finished with 15 kills and 14 digs, and
Alayna Briggs, who added 12 kills and 23 digs. Libero
Khloe Stear anchored the defense with a team high 32 digs as the Cobras tallied 101 total digs in the match.
Chloe Eeten finished with 37 assists and added 6 kills and 11 digs of her own while hitting .462 for the match to lead the team.
Bella McKinney hit .259 individually while adding another 8 kills for the Cobras, who hit .135 as a team for the match.
Parkland College improves to 30-1 (6-0 MWAC) on the season with the win, while Illinois Central drops to 21-5 (5-1 MWAC).

The Cobras return home this weekend, hosting the Parkland tri-meet on Saturday, October 3rd. The Cobras will face off against #1 Kirkwood Community College at 10 AM, followed by Lincoln Land at 2 PM.
