Bloomington, Il -- September 5, 2026 -- The Parkland volleyball team competed at the Heartland Invitational over the weekend. The Cobras beat Milwaukee Area Technical College 3-1 on Friday before sweeping Rock Valley College and Ellsworth Community College on Saturday to improve to 14-1 on the season. Alayna Briggs and Reis McFarland would have a big weekend leading the attack for the Cobras while Khloe Stear anchored the defense and Chloe Eeten paced the offense.

Game 1: Parkland 3, Milwaukee Area 0 (15-25, 25-15, 25-11, 25-11)
The Cobras kicked off the weekend on Friday against Milwaukee Area Technical College. After the Stormers took the first set 25-15, the Cobras took the next three sets to win 3-1. Briggs and McFarland led the attack, combining for 24 kills while the Cobras hit .137 as a team. Stear led the defense, finishing with 25 digs while McFarland added 18 of her own, and Eeten finished with 34 assists for the Cobras.

Game 2: Parkland 3, Rock Valley College 0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-21)
The Cobras opened up the Saturday slate against Rock Valley College. Despite the Golden Eagles' best effort to keep it close throughout the match, the Cobras would win with a sweep for their 13th win of the season. McFarland and Briggs were once again the leaders on the attack, with McFarland leading the team with 19 kills while Briggs added 9. Khloe Stear finished with a team high 24 digs while McFarland added 15 of her own. Chloe Eeten would finish with 35 assists as the Cobras hit .231 as a team for the match.

Game 3: Parkland 3, Ellsworth 0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-15)
The Cobras wrapped up the weekend with a sweep of Ellsworth Community College on Saturday. McFarland led the team once again with 16 kills and 12 digs. Jillian Schlittler added 9 kills of her own while Briggs added on 6. On the defensive end, Stear led the team with 24 digs while Schlittler added another 10, along with Chloe Eeten and Brogan Anderson who combined for another 12 kills. Eeten's 33 assists helped direct the attack as the Cobras hit .252 as a team and rolled past the Panthers for their 14th win of the season.
