Head Coach Dan Vogelsang enters his fourth season at the helm of the Parkland College Women's Soccer program in the fall of 2023. Under Vogelsang, the Cobras have gone 16-24-4, including 6-8-1 in M-WAC play. He currently holds two training certificates from the United Soccer Coaches Association: the Goalkeeping Level 1 Diploma and the 11v11/Pre-National Diploma.
Prior to Parkland, he was most recently the Boys Varsity Head Coach at St Joseph-Ogden High School, from 2016-2019, leading the program to a regional final appearance and 2nd-place conference finish in 2016. His success at SJO earned him a 2018 Coach of the Year award from the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association. Additional coaching experience comes from serving as an assistant at SJO in 2015, as well as with the girl’s program at the High School of St. Thomas More in 2020. In both instances he held the role of Goalkeeper Coach. He also led the player development and goalkeeper training for the SJO Soccer Club from 2015-2016.
Vogelsang has multiple years of playing experience, including internationally. From 1996-1997 he played for the Illinois Central College Club Soccer Team. Prior to that, he played in European leagues in Germany, from 1991-1995, and was part of a 1994 league championship team. During this same period, he played on the U.S. Army Soccer Team (1991-1994) and on other U.S. Representative Teams (1992-1994).
A Washington, Illinois native, Vogelsang attended Washington Community High School where he played varsity soccer from 1986-1990. He is a veteran of the United States Army, and he currently works as a Branch Manager for Bahrns ToyotaLift.
Volgelsang currently lives in Champaign. He and his wife, April, have one daughter. They also have a cat, Pumpkin, who likes to play with a mini soccer ball.
