Heather is former defensive specialist/libero entering her third year with the Parkland volleyball coaching staff. Heather coordinates community service projects, oversees academics, and facilitates youth volleyball camps for Parkland and the Champaign Park District.  

Heather is a former Prime Time Volleyball Club athlete of three years, one of which was coached by Parkland Head Coach Cliff Hastings. For the past three years, she’s coached 12U, junior high, and high school teams for Prime Time Volleyball Club. Last season, she was the head coach of Prime Time 17 Orange, leading the team to a 13th place finish of 100+ teams at the AAU National tournament. 

Heather played libero for Kankakee Community College from 2009-2011. She served as team captain and was awarded Academic All-American in her sophomore season. Heather then played libero for Illinois State University’s club volleyball team from 2011-2013 while earning her bachelor’s degree in History. She continued her education at Western Illinois University, earning her master’s degree with a 4.0 in College Student Personnel Services in 2015.

Heather works full-time for the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois as an academic advisor. She supports first and second year students as they transition to collegiate life and create meaningful academic plans of study. Heather coordinates a peer advising program that also provides support to first year students. In addition to advising and coaching, Heather still enjoys the sport and plays competitively.
