The 2025 season marks Coach Sikora's 20th at the helm of the Cobras, coming off a 9-6-4 season in 2024-25. In addition to winning six M-WAC titles (2008, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 final year of the conference), Sikora (226-104-19) has coached numerous national top-level players including 2024 NJCAA All American Ebenezer Boti (Oral Roberts University), 2023 NJCAA All-Americans Shion Hayashi (Eastern Illinois University) - Chiba, Japan and Ebenezer Boti - Accra, Ghana; Yamato Kline (Thomas More University) (2022-2023) - Kagawa, Japan, Jonathan Velasquez- Lincoln, Nebraska 2020, 2021 (Clarke University), Yu Sasaki-Nara, Japan 2019 (Mount Mercy University); Matt Sharma- Sandwich, England 2016 (Georgia Southern University); and Devon Munch-Pickering, Ontario 2008; along with NSCAA/USC All-Americans Shion Hayashi (2023), Ebenezer Boti (2023), Jonathan Velasquez (2021), Alex Zarco-Champaign Central 2016 (University of Illinois-Springfield, Eddie Sayon-Champaign Centennial 2007 (University of Illinois-Springfield, and Patrick Mabeya-Kinshasa, DRC 2006 (Eastern Illinois University).
Other spotlight performers include 2015 MWAC Forward of the Year, Daniel Kadima-Champaign Central (Western Illinois University); 2013 MWAC Defender of the Year, Claudio Galbraith-London, England; 2016 MWAC Freshman of the Year, Johnny Pugh-Sheffield, England; and 2016 Parkland College Male Athlete of the Year, Daniel White-England. Additional top-level performers from prior years include Bruno Ferreira-Belo Horizonte, Brazil (University of West Florida); Trevor Kohlrus-Chatham Glenwood (Eastern Illinois University); Kenny Kranz-Champaign Centennial (Northern Illinois University); and Tanner Kidwell - Madison, KY (Marshall University).
Cobras Soccer players have also excelled in the classroom, including over two dozen NJCAA All Academic Student-Athlete Award winners and multiple United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Academic recipients.
Sikora, who holds his USSF “C” license, came to Parkland College from Champaign Centennial where he achieved a five-year record of 89-17-7 and led the Charger Boys teams to five straight Big 12 Conference titles, three regional titles, two sectional championships, and three Big 12 Coach of the Year awards.. He also coached the Chargers girls team, achieving a five-year record of 100-14-8 and earning five Big 12 Conference Coach of the Year awards, one IHSA Coach of the Year nods, five Big 12 conference titles, five regional titles, four sectional titles, and also making three IHSA State Finals appearances, finishing in the Illinois High School Class AA Top 10 in 4 straight years. At Parkland, he has earned MWAC Coach of the Year awards (2009, 2013, 2015, 2018 - final year of the conference) and NJCAA Region 24 Coach of the Year awards (2009, 2016, 2020, 2021, 2023). In 2016, when Parkland Men's Soccer capped off its most successful campaign to date with a 21-2 record, a trip to the National Tournament, and a No. 5 national ranking, he was selected as the 2016 NSCAA/USC Junior College North Coach of the Year. In 2021, the Cobras returned to the NJCAA National Tournament, finished the season with a #4 national ranking and Sikora was again voted as the NSCAA/USC Junior College North Coach of the Year.
Sikora was a four year starter at Champaign Centennial High School and an All-Big 12 Conference honoree in 1990. He also played for the Little Illini Soccer Club (IFC). He earned his BA degree in History Education from Illinois State University in 1995 and a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Illinois in 2011. He and his wife, Nicole, have two daughters, Isabel and Chloe, and live in Urbana. He teaches Social Studies at Champaign Centennial High School (30 years) in addition to his coaching duties. He is also the owner/general manager of Junction FC WPSL.
