CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – No. 18 Parkland women's basketball defeated 2017 NJCAA Nationals Qualifier Ancilla on Wednesday night, winning by a score of 82-60. 
Shoente'ra Russell led the team with 19 points, while 
Crystal Mathis (15 points), 
Alex Specht (10 points) and 
Emily Meinert (10 points) also scored in double figures.
Winning their fourth straight game of the season, Parkland used an explosive third quarter to take down Ancilla. Leading by two, 41-39, at halftime, the Cobras outscored the Chargers 28-6 in the third period to take control of the game. Its largest margin of victory of the season, the Cobras shot 43% and 71% from the free-throw line, and pulled down a season-high 51 rebounds.
Setting a season-high and game-high with 19 points, Russell hit seven of her 10 shot attempts, including five threes. The first-year Cobra also dished in a pair of assists and chipped in four rebounds.
After leading the Cobras in scoring on Saturday against Olney Central, Mathis scored in double figures for the third time this season on Wednesday. Mathis scored 15 points to go along with five assists and four rebounds.
Joining the two guards in double figures were forwards 
Alex Specht and 
Emily Meinert who both tallied 10 points. Each knocking down five shots on eight attempts, Meinert pulled down six boards and Specht five.
