Ina, IL - The No. 11 Parkland men's basketball team fell to 3-2 on the season with a 59-83 loss to Rend Lake College (3-0).
Struggling from the start to stay in the game, the Cobras were down 42-28 at the half. In that period, the Warriors dominated the boards, 26-14, and shot 56% from the field with 14 second-chance points. Parkland continued its trend of cold shooting, managing only 36% by the break.
Charles Campbell Jr. (24 points) led Parkland with 10 at that point.
Little changed in the second period, as Rend Lake was able to score regularly. The Warriors shot 64% for the game, with 44 points coming from in the paint. Campbell Jr. finished strong offensively, but there was too little support to present a challenge to Rend Lake.
Up next, the Cobras return to Champaign for their first home game of the season, Saturday, November 16
th, 7:00 pm, against Lake Land College.
