CHAMPAIGN, IL - The No. 11 Parkland men's basketball team moved to 4-2 with an 88-79 win over Lake Land College (2-2).
The Cobras started slowly, trailing early and shooting only 40% for the 1
st half. After a rise in the level of intensity, Parkland held a narrow lead of 40-37 at the break. In the second half, the offense, led by
Carter Jeffries (21 points, 3 assists),
Bruno Williams Jr. (18 points, 4 assists, 10 rebounds), and
Joey Saracco (13 points, 11 rebounds), finally became hot, shooting 59% from the field. Strong on the boards, leading to a 42-38 advantage in that category, were Saracco and Williams Jr., who each finished with a double-double, along with
Charles Campbell Jr. (10 points, 7 rebounds).
