CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The No. 14 Parkland men's basketball team (16-5, 2-1 MWAC) lost its first conference game to Danville Area CC (11-9, 3-1 MWAC) by the score of 77-90.
The visiting Jaguars came out on fire, making 9 of 14 three-point shots in the first half, and building a 15-point halftime lead. That lead proved to be insurmountable in the end. Joey Saracco (20 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks) earned his fourth double-double of the season, leading the team in scoring along with
Carter Jeffries (20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists). Also scoring in double digits was
Bruno Williams Jr. (10 points, 4 assists, 2 steals). Saracco, Jeffries, and
Semaj Danley II (7 points, 5 rebounds) helped the Cobras edge Danville on the boards, 31-30.
Noah Persich (9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists) was 3-3 shooting from long range in the first half but was unable to convert after the break.
