SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The No. 14 Parkland men's basketball team (17-5, 3-1 MWAC) won its third conference game, defeating host Lincoln Land CC (3-10, 0-3 MWAC) by the score of 100-51.
Early in the game, both teams battled back-and-forth, leading to a tie score at 17. The host Loggers, who were limited to 6 active players, could not maintain that same level of play and soon gave up a Cobras run of 10 points. Parkland continued to pull away, ending the half on a 22-6 run and building a lead of 43-25.
Kelvin Swims (17 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds) led in scoring at that point, with 8 points from off the bench.
Out of the break, after a quick Lincoln Land basket, the Cobras went on a 31-3 run to put the game away. Every Parkland player scored, led by
Carter Jeffries (20 points), Swims,
Joey Saracco (14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks),
Charles Campbell Jr. (13 points, 7 rebounds), and
Kamari Kenemore (12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists). Also chipping in were
Semaj Danley II (10 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists) and
Noah Persich (9 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists).
Bruno Williams Jr. (11 rebounds) led both teams on the boards.
