SPRINGFIELD, Ill. –Parkland women's basketball (19-4, 3-2 MWAC) fell, 56-67, at #4 Lincoln Land CC (22-2, 3-1 MWAC). This marks the midway point of MWAC play for the Cobras, who are 3-2 after facing each of its conference foes.
The contest began on a physical note, with both teams getting into early foul trouble. Parkland initially fell behind, trailing 12-20 at the end of the 1st period. Improved play in the second quarter allowed the Cobras to cut the deficit to 4 points, 30-34, by the mid-way break.
In the third quarter, with three key Loggers on the bench in foul trouble, Parkland repeatedly utilized its strength at the post positions and tied the game at 50. From that point on, the Cobras offense went cold, scoring only 2 field goals in the fourth period. Lincoln Land, on the other hand, put up 17 points, producing a final margin of 11.
