DANVILLE, Ill. –No. 6 Parkland College Women's Basketball (12-1, 6-1 M-WAC) picked up a conference win, 59-41, over Danville Area CC (4-10, 1-6) on Thursday evening.
The Cobras jumped out to an 11-7 lead after one quarter of play, and despite a scoring drought of over four-and-a-half minutes mid-way through the second, extended the gap to fourteen, at 27-13, as the teams headed into the locker rooms. Parkland's defense limited the Jaguars to just 21% shooting in the first half.
Coming out of the break, Parkland continued to play well on both ends, increasing the lead to 46-26 after three quarters. In the fourth, the Jaguars played relatively even with the Cobras, leading to a final margin of eighteen.
