INA, Ill. – Parkland College Men's Basketball (12-6) picked up a non-conference road win over Rend Lake College (6-6) by the final score of 91-58.
The Cobras never trailed, jumping out to an immediate 14-6 lead. With the score 16-10, Parkland scored 15 straight points, expanding the margin to twenty-one. As the teams headed to the locker rooms, the Cobras were up, 40-21.
Parkland steadily increased its lead in the second half, leading by thirty-nine, 73-34 at the ten-minute mark and settling for a final margin of thirty-three points.
Savon Wykle (7 rebounds, 2 blocks, 3 assists) scored a career-high 23 points and led a trio of Cobras in double figures that also included
Kamari Kenemore (14 points, 6 rebounds) and
Jamil Hardaway (11 points, 4 rebounds).
Kevin Bishop II (9 points, 8 rebounds, 1 block, 2 assists) dominated the boards as he and Wykle pushed the Cobras to outrebound Rend Lake, 31-19.
Deonte Douglas (7 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists),
Josh Rivers (6 points, 4 assists), and
Kelvin Swims (5 points, 4 assists) combined for 13 of Parkland's 24 assists.
The Cobras shot 56% from the floor, including twelve 3-pointers, and held the Warriors to just 36%.
