CARTERVILLE, Ill. – Parkland College Softball (6-1) won the first game, 5-1, but then saw its six-game winning streak come to an end with a 0-3 loss to John A. Logan College (4-4).

Up next, the Cobras return to the Avanti's Dome in Pekin, Ill., to play a doubleheader against Morton College on Tuesday, March 9.  Game times are 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm.

Game 1: Parkland 5, John A. Logan 1  (7 innings)

The Volunteers scored one in the first and held a 1-0 lead until the Cobras batted in the top of the fourth. Summer Johnson (1-4, 1 RBI, 1 HR) hit a solo home run, and then Taylor Dugger (1-3, 1 RBI) singled in Sydney Eichelberger for what proved to be the winning run.
Parkland added three insurance runs in the top of the seventh.

The Cobras spread the offense throughout the batting order. In addition to Johnson and Dugger, Isabel Shafer, Reagan Cheely, Eden McAvoy, Madison Vogel, Anna Walker, and Lizzy Davis each had one hit.
