CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Parkland College Women's Soccer (0-1, 0-1 MWAC) played its opening match of the season against No. 3 (DI) Lewis & Clark CC (1-0, 1-0 MWAC) and came out on the losing end, 0-5.

The Trailblazers' Australian star, Candice Parziani, opened the scoring in the fifth minute of the match, and two of her teammates added their own goals in the first half, as the Cobras found themselves trailing at the break, 0-3.

In the second half, Parziani notched her second, and one of two additional goals in the period, as Lewis & Clark took the first MWAC match of the season.

Parkland keeper,
Michelle Miller, made 8 saves on the day.

"I am very pleased with how our team played," expressed Interim Head Coach
Dan Vogelsang. "Knowing that Lewis & Clark is a nationally-ranked program, the last thing we wanted was to have to play without any subs. But, our team did not give up, and I know they learned a lot today. They finished with heart, and I am proud of them."

Up next, the Cobras travel to Normal, Ill., to play MWAC foe Heartland CC on Saturday, April 10, at 2:00 pm.
