SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – No. 13 Parkland College Baseball (30-13, 21-7 MWAC) won game three of the 4-game series, 7-6, but then dropped game four, 15-17, to conference-leading No. 4 Lincoln Land CC (41-10, 28-4).
Up next, the Cobras remain in Champaign, Ill., to play a single game against Kankakee CC on Wednesday, May 12. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
Game 3: #13 Parkland- 7, #4 Lincoln Land- 6 (7 innings)
Parkland scored one run in the first inning but fell behind after giving up 5 in the second and 1 more in the third. The Cobras got 2 back in the bottom of the third and 1 in the bottom of the fifth but still trailed, 4-6, after five.
In the bottom of the sixth,
Hogan McIntosh (2-4, 2 HR, 4 RBI) hit a 3-run home run that ended up being the game-winner, as the Parkland defense held in the top of the seventh. The victory ended a 12-game Loggers winning streak.
Austin Biehl (2-4, HR, RBI),
Zyon Avery (2-3, RBI), and
David Ascencio (2-3) each had a pair of hits as the Cobras outhit Lincoln Land, 11-3.
Tyler Heidkamp (5-2) pitched four innings and earned the win for Parkland. He allowed one hit and one walk, while striking out seven.
Ben Catrambone (1.1 IP, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 H, 5 BB, 2 Ks) started on the mound, and
Ari Gordon (1.2 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 H, 3 BB, 4 Ks) provided relief out of the bullpen.
Game 4: #13 Parkland- 15, #4 Lincoln Land- 17 (7 innings)
Lincoln Land controlled the early parts of the game, leading 5-1 after one inning, 6-2 after two, and 8-2 after batting in the top of the fifth.
In the bottom of the fifth, Parkland erupted with 11 runs, sparked by two, 3-run home runs by
Zyon Avery (3-4, 2 HR, 6 RBI). The Cobras' 13-8 lead was reduced to two runs when the Loggers scored 3 in the sixth.
In the seventh, Lincoln Land scored 6 and retook the lead, 17-13. Parkland plated 2 in the bottom half, and at that point, the game was called due to darkness.

Tristan Cazel (0-1) took the loss. Cazel gave up four runs (4 earned) on five hits and one walk.
Drew Switzer (1 IP, 5 R, 4 ER, 2 H, 1 BB) and
Jack Snider (1 IP, 1 BB, 2 Ks) provided relief out of the bullpen.
