CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Parkland's men's soccer team couldn't keep up with the No. 3 Prairie State Pioneers on Thursday afternoon, losing at home for the first time this season by a score of 5-3.

The Pioneers (6-1-1) got out to a fast start, scoring in the 2
nd minute and again in the 15
th minute, this time from the penalty spot. But the Cobras (5-2-1) quickly responded with two goals of their own in the 18
th and 23
rd minute. Prairie State took a 3-2 lead into halftime and then began the second half just like the first, with a quick goal only one minute in. Parkland responded again in the 55
th minute to make the score 4-3, but the Pioneers' Yannis Lakhlifi completed his hat-trick in the 63
rd minute and the Cobras couldn't work their way back.
