Mt. Carmel, Ill. – The Parkland College women's soccer team had a strong first period but ultimately fell to Wabash Valley College 2-0. Both goals for the Warriors came on set pieces.

The Cobras (3-7-0) played solid defense all afternoon and goalkeeper Becky Painter finished with 4 saves. However, the Warriors (1-4-1) finally got past Painter in the 68
th minute when a direct free kick bounced off the top crossbar and one of the side goal posts before being tapped in. Wabash Valley secured their first win of the season in the 77
th minute when the Warriors scored off a corner.

Up next, Parkland travels to Springfield, Ill. to play Lincoln Land Community College on Saturday, October 2. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
