Box Score DANVILLE, Ill. – The Parkland men's basketball team dropped their first game in eight games on Wednesday night, losing at Danville Area Community College 66-60. The 19th-ranked Jaguars were the first ranked team the Cobras have played all season and their first MWAC conference loss, falling to 1-1 this season.
Marcus Johnson led the Cobras in scoring, dropping 14 points and 10 rebounds off the bench in the loss.

The Cobras (10-5) started strong, jumping out to a 16-6 lead and forcing the Jaguars (12-2) to call a timeout. DACC came out of the timeout with an 18-6 stretch of their own to take a 24-22 lead. The Cobras shot free throws well down the stretch in the first half (9-10) and took a 38-32 lead into the break. The second half was all Jaguars, however, as DACC was able to find a rhythm and keep Parkland at bay for the rest of the game. The Cobras scored only 22 points in the second half and surrendered key offensive rebounds on their way to the 66-60 loss. Parkland had only four assists as a team and shot just 35 percent from the field on Wednesday night.
