CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 1 ranked Parkland College volleyball team closed out its 2022 regular season in style on Saturday, October 29th as the Cobras defeated both No. 17 McHenry County College and Sauk Valley Community College in straight sets. Parkland College freshman Avah Classen tallied 63 assists on Saturday while freshman outside hitter Kayla Pacha led the team with 25 kills. The Cobras (50-2) finish the regular season on a 12-match winning streak, giving Parkland its 10th 50-win season in program history and its 9th under head coach
Cliff Hastings.
"The girls have worked really hard at staying in the present and focusing on the next practice and next match, and we've been very thankful for the success we've had in the regular season," Hastings said on Saturday. "The girls are excited for postseason week to begin and, while we've got some fun things ahead, we will continue to stay present and appreciative for each other and for each day we get to experience together."

Up next, the Cobras will host the NJCAA DII Region 24 Central A District Championship at the Donald C. Dodds Jr. Athletic Complex on Saturday, November 5th. No. 1 seed Parkland will face No. 8 seed Rend Lake College at 11:00 AM, No. 4 seed Lincoln Land Community College will face No. 5 seed Southwestern Illinois College at 1:00 PM and the winners of the two matches will meet in the Championship Match at 3:00 PM for a place at the NJCAA DII National Tournament in Cedar Rapids.
