CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. – The No. 3 seed Parkland College volleyball team battled to earn a hard-fought victory over No. 11 seed Des Moines Area Community College on Thursday, November 16, in the 2023 NJCAA DII National Tournament Quarterfinals. The Cobras (46-4) won a back-and-forth set one before the Bears (29-11) evened the match at 1-1. Parkland got off to a strong start in the third set, leading comfortably the whole way, and the Cobras pulled away in the fourth set to win the match. Sophomore
Bri Struck (13 kills, 3 aces, 2 blocks) led the team in points with 17, and freshman
Brooklyn Holdener recorded a season-high 12 blocks. With the win, Parkland advances to the NJCAA DII National Semifinals for the 12th straight season.

Up next, Parkland faces No. 2 seed Scottsdale Community College in a rematch of the 2022 NJCAA DII National Semifinals. Tip-off against the undefeated Artichokes (26-0) is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at the Alliant Energy Powerhouse Arena.
