PLYMOUTH, Ind. – The No. 6 ranked Parkland College golf team got off to a strong start at the NJCAA DII National Championship, as the Cobras shot a team score of 283 (-5) in the opening round at the par-72 Swan Lake Resort on Tuesday, May 23rd, putting them in second place of the tournament. The Cobras finished the day just two strokes behind leaders South Mountain Community College (281, -7) and one stroke ahead of third-place Kirkwood Community College (284, -4). Individually, Parkland freshman Lucas Park (68, -4) leads the team in a tie for 4th place, with freshman Zarak Curley (70, -2) and sophomore Dain Richie (71, -1) not far behind him in T11 and T17, respectively. Sophomore Roo Fenwick (74, +2) and freshman Michael Addie (74, +2) rounded out the team scoring on Tuesday, with both in a tie for 38th.  
 
Up next, Parkland will continue to play at the NJCAA DII National Championships in round two tomorrow, May 24th, at the Swan Lake Resort. The Cobras are scheduled to tee off between 10:45 and 11:21 AM on Wednesday.
