Box Score 2 CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – No. 3 Parkland volleyball defeated No. 11 McHenry County College (25-3) and No. 20 Rock Valley College (24-12) at the Parkland Region Crossover Tournament on Friday, October 25th.
McHenry County College put up a fight in the first set of the day, but the Cobras triumphed, winning 28-26.
Brooklyn Holdener led the team offensively with eight kills in the match, which helped the Cobras secure two more set wins (25-10, 25-22) and earn the sweep.
Libby Bodine led the defense with 18 digs and
Alayna Rudebeck added 16.
Ashlee Freeman and
Hailey Warfel had 13 assists and 12 assists, respectively.
Shay McMillen took charge in the second match against Rock Valley College, contributing 17 kills in three sets.
Addie Beekman followed closely behind, adding 14 kills. The Cobras totaled 41 kills in the match, with McMillen and Beekman combining for 31.
Riley Ries led the team in blocks with four. The Cobras won in three sets (25-14, 25-22, 25-18).
Up next, the Cobras play day two of the Parkland Region Crossover Tournament. The Cobras play Carl Sandburg College (30-7) at 9:00 AM and No. 9 Sauk Valley Community College (27-4) at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 26th.
