GODFREY, Ill. – The No. 4 Parkland College men's basketball team controlled the game on the road versus Lewis & Clark Community College, cruising to a 95-72 win on Saturday, February 10. The Cobras (22-2) (6-1) held a 10-point lead at halftime and maintained that lead over the Trailblazers (3-17) (1-6) through the second half to win their sixth straight game. Freshman
JaMonte Williams came off the bench to lead Parkland with 16 points, and redshirt sophomore
Grant Coleman (14 points) tied a season-high with four three-pointers in the win.
"Complete team effort today," head coach John Bowler said after the game. "(Lewis & Clark) do a great job scoring the ball at home, so holding them below their season average is really what allowed us to extend the lead."
"There's definitely some areas we need to clean up, but I love this team's ability to share in each other's success," Bowler added. "Every night, it can be someone different, and our guys embrace that mentality."
Up next, Parkland will head to Danville, Illinois, on Wednesday, February 14, for a conference rematch against Danville Area Community College. Tip-off against the Jaguars (14-8) (5-2) is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
