CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – No. 7 Parkland men's basketball won at home versus Illinois Central College (6-14) on Saturday, January 25. The Cobras (20-2) have won their last six games, five of which were against Region 24 opponents.Â
The Cobras got out to a fast start, taking a 13-4 lead in the first seven minutes of the game on a
Kris English layup and never slowed down. Parkland remained in control for most of the first half and closed out the half with a
Jaiden Martin three-pointer to take the 41-30 lead into the break. Back-to-back
Drew Lewis Jr. buckets at the start of the second half set the tone for the remainder of the game, as Parkland cruised to the 91-73 victory on Saturday afternoon.
Chandler Jackson (27 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals) had a strong showing and the Cobras shot 50% from the field and 78.3% from the free throw line to secure another Region 24 win.Â
