DANVILLE, Ill. – The No. 5 Parkland men's basketball team dropped a conference game to Danville Area Community College (7-7) on Wednesday, January 8. The Cobras (14-2) went 26-61 (42.6%) from the field and 11-16 (68.8%) from the free throw line in the loss.Â
DACC got ahead early, leading 16-6 with 10:35 on the clock in the first half. The Cobras cut the lead to five points after two back-to-back threes from
Lane McVicar and
Grant Chamberlain in the final minutes of the first half. The Jaguars continued to put up a fight, extending the lead again to eight points by halftime. The game remained close at the start of the second half, and a
Jaiden Martin three-pointer gave the Cobras the 50-48 lead with 15:23 on the clock. The Jaguars countered with a five-minute, 9-0 run to go up 69-60 with five minutes left. The Cobras were unable to get in front again, falling 82-71 on the road.Â
