CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — October 25, 2025 — No. 3 Parkland Volleyball team closed out the Parkland Region Crossover Tournament in dominant fashion on Saturday, defeating No. 12 Sauk Valley Community College (25-19, 25-20, 25-21) and Carl Sandburg College (25-13, 25-11, 25-15) to sweep the weekend at home. The Cobras did not drop a set across four matches, continuing their strong late-season push. 

In a ranked showdown, Parkland controlled the tempo from start to finish to hand Sauk Valley a straight-set loss. Shay McMillen led the Cobras with 9 kills, while Bella McKinney added 7 kills. Addie Beekman chipped in 6 kills and a pair of blocks, and Sammi Christman provided 4 kills and 6 blocks up front. Hailey Warfel and Ashlee Freeman combined for 37 assists, guiding the team to a .204 hitting percentage. On defense, Anna McEwen anchored the back row with 14 digs, while the Cobras racked up 19 total blocks as a team. The Cobras' balanced effort and efficient front-row play kept Sauk Valley from gaining momentum in any set.

In their final match of the weekend, Parkland maintained its intensity and composure, cruising past Carl Sandburg to close out the crossover. McMillen once again paced the offense with 18 kills on an outstanding .387 hitting percentage, while McKinney tallied 9 kills. Natalie Alexander contributed 5 kills and 5 total blocks, and Christman added 3 kills and 3 blocks. Warfel distributed 21 assists, and Freeman added 9 more to direct a Parkland offense that hit .326 as a team. McEwen led all players with 19 digs, continuing her standout defensive weekend. The Cobras dominated both offensively and defensively, allowing no more than 15 points in any set against the Chargers.

The No. 3 Parkland Cobras (44-4) will hit the road for the Morton Tri in Cicero, Illinois, on November 1, facing Danville Area Community College at 12 PM and Morton College at 2 PM.
