CARTERVILLE, Ill.āNovember 15, 2025ā In a battle between nationally ranked programs, the No. 2 Parkland College men's basketball team fought through foul trouble and a major free throw disadvantage to defeat No. 22 John A. Logan College, 79ā76, on Saturday. Parkland trailed in free throw attempts 37ā17, but relied on execution, composure, and depth to close out the victory. Jaiden Martin led the Cobras with 19 points, while Grant Chamberlain added 17, continuing his stretch of double-figure performances. Chris Bush made a huge second-half impact, scoring all 12 of his points after the break to help push Parkland over the top.
Head coach John Bowler praised his team's resilience and growth:
"Really proud of our group today. We challenged them this week to get better in a couple areas and they rose to the occasion. Obviously fouls were an issue on our end but we had some guys step up big in the second half. Speaks volumes of the trust our guys have for each other. With that being said, we look forward to getting back in the gym and cleaning up some issues on the defensive end."
The win moves the Cobras to 5ā0 and marks their strongest test of the season so far.
Up next, Parkland will travel to Port Huron, Michigan, to compete in the SC4 Tip-Off Tournament from November 20ā22. The Cobras will open tournament play on November 20, against Marian University Ancilla at 3PM.Ā
