No. 1 Cobras Close SC4 Tip Off Tournament With Win Over Host Skippers

Huge bench lift carries Parkland to a hard-earned victory

PORT HURON, Mich.—November 22, 2025— The No. 1 Parkland College men's basketball team wrapped up the SC4 Thumbcoast Tip Off Tournament with a gritty 72–61 victory over host St. Clair County Community College (SC4) on Saturday evening. Playing their third game in three days, the Cobras relied on toughness, rebounding, and key contributions from both starters and reserves to secure the bounce-back win.

Grant Chamberlain recorded his third double-double of the season, finishing with 13 points and 12 rebounds in another strong all-around performance. Jaiden Martin continued his elite scoring pace, leading the Cobras with 24 points.

Making his first start of the year, Leirre Collier filled the stat sheet with 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, providing stability and timely playmaking.

Parkland also received major production from its bench. Chris Bush added 9 points, while Jiovanny Garcia delivered one of the most impactful performances of the night, scoring 8 points with 2 assists in 27 minutes. More importantly, Garcia's defense helped hold SC4's leading scorer to just 30% shooting, a key factor in the Cobras closing out the win.

Head coach John Bowler praised his team's resilience and fight:

"First off, 3 games in 3 days on the road against top level competition is a true test, which is what we signed up for when we accepted the invite to the SC4 Thumbcoast Tipoff... Great bounce back win for us. St. Clair County is a tough, disciplined, well-coached team. We knew it was going to be a battle. Credit goes to our guys. They were warriors getting it done tonight. We found some areas we need to clean up and look forward to getting back to work this week."

With the win, Parkland concludes the tournament and improves to 7–1 on the season.

Up next, the Cobras return home to host Rock Valley College on Friday, November 29, at 3 PM CST.
