CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Parkland College Athletics has named sophomore volleyball middle hitter Natalie Alexander and sophomore men's soccer goalkeeper Tresody Ondongo as the November Athletes of the Month, recognizing their outstanding performances and leadership throughout October.

Alexander, from Chatham, Illinois, is a defensive powerhouse on the volleyball court. Leading the NJCAA in both matches started and total defensive blocks, accumulating 204 blocks, Natalie is currently the only NJCAA player in the country with more than 200 blocks. During the month of October alone, she recorded 100 kills and 85 blocks, earning NJCAA Region 24 Player of the Week honors twice—a testament to her consistency and impact in the front row.  

On the pitch, Ondongo has been a crucial presence in goal for the Cobras. The Urbana, Illinois native made 19 saves on 21 shots in 295 minutes of play over the last four matches of October, helping secure three wins, including the regional title in a rematch against Heartland Community College. Men's soccer head coach Mark Sikora praised Ondongo's rapid rise, saying, "I can't overstate how important Tresody has been for this program from September on. He has been the reason that players can feel more confident in front of him… After putting on a great display at Heartland in early September, he has not looked back and has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the country."

Both Alexander and Ondongo exemplify the strength, resilience, and excellence of Parkland Athletics, standing out in their respective sports during a crucial month of competition.
