No. 5 Cobras Gut Out Road Win at Olney Central

Parkland overcomes adversity

OLNEY, Ill.—December 17, 2025— The No. 5 Parkland College Men's Basketball team earned a gritty 77–73 road victory over Olney Central College on Wednesday night, fighting through momentum swings and late pressure to close out the win.

Parkland held a narrow two-point lead at halftime before coming out of the break with purpose, extending the margin to 12 points early in the second half. Olney Central made a late push, but the Cobras stayed composed and executed down the stretch to seal the win.

Jaiden Martin led all scorers with 27 points, battling through cramps midway through the second half and still finding a way to close the game. Nick Harrell turned in a career night at Parkland, pouring in 18 points, while Chris Bush added 16, highlighted by a thunderous second-half dunk over a 7-foot-2 defender that ignited the Cobra bench.

Grant Chamberlain contributed 10 points, and Trey Welter delivered in key moments, knocking down a huge three-pointer in the second half and making several timely defensive plays as Parkland protected its lead.

Head coach John Bowler praised his team's toughness and growth after the win:

"This is a really good win for us on the road. Olney is a tough place to play…makes it hard on you to keep a rhythm. Our guys fought through a lot of adversity to close this one out. This group continues to buy into each other and our approach to the game. We need to finish this semester strong on Saturday."

With the victory, Parkland improves to 12–2 on the season.

Up next, the Cobras will host College of Lake County College on December 20, with tipoff scheduled for 1 PM CST.
