CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 23 ranked Parkland College women's basketball team fell 75-66 in a hard-fought game to No. 5 ranked Lincoln Land Community College (26-2) on Saturday, February 22. Maliah Sparks led the Cobras (18-10) in the loss with 26 points and 9 rebounds. 
 
The Loggers scored first and never lost the lead for the entire first quarter, leading the Cobras 21-14 going into the second quarter. The Cobras took their first lead of the game with 6:25 on the clock in the second quarter after Sparks stole the ball and made a layup on the other end. Parkland had the momentum on their side after that, and went on a 6-0 run to go up 36-29 with 3:56 on the clock. By the end of the half, Parkland led the Loggers 40-35. The Loggers came out of the half focused, going on 7-0 run to start the third quarter. The Cobras trailed for a majority of the quarter, but a Sparks three-pointer with 1:49 on the clock tied the game again 51-51. The fourth quarter was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams, and it was a one-point game with 2:00 on the clock. The Cobras were unable to score in the final minutes, and the Loggers went on a 9-0 run to close out Parkland 75-66.
