EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The No. 23 ranked Parkland College women's basketball team dropped a close game to No. 10 ranked Illinois Central College (23-6) on Wednesday, February 26.
Sofiia Fedina scored a season-high 15 points for the Cobras in the 71-66 loss.

The two teams were evenly matched in the first quarter, with the biggest lead by either team being just four points. With under a minute left, back-to-back buckets from
Maliah Sparks and
Trinity Harden gave the Cobras the 21-16 lead. The Cobras stayed on top for most of the second quarter, until the Cougars regained the lead at the four minute mark. The Cobras didn't allow the home team to pull too far away in the final minutes of the half, but the Cougars had the 41-35 lead going into the half. Parkland started to close the deficit in the third quarter, and a layup by
Crissiana Rose made it a two-point game. At the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Cougars were up 58-54, and quickly extended the lead to 10 points with 8:12 on the clock. The Cobras pulled within four points after
Sofiia Fedina made a three-pointer with 18 seconds left, but they were unable to score again, and the Cougars handed the Cobras the 71-66 loss.
