Box Score CARBONDALE, Ill. – No. 13 Parkland baseball won over NJCAA Division I South Suburban College (3-5) on Saturday, March 1, after suffering its first loss of the season yesterday.
Jax Hisle and
Lincoln Cardwell each blasted a home run for the Cobras (7-1), and pitcher
Lane Lorton picked up his third win of the season.Â

In the 2nd inning, a
Matthew Carrano base hit scored a run, putting the Cobras up 1-0.
Lincoln Cardwell followed up with a double, scoring another run to extend the lead to 2-0 going into the bottom of the inning. In the top of the 3rd inning,
John Shuey doubled to right field, giving the Cobras the 3-0 lead. The Bulldogs scored two runs in the 4th inning, but the Cobra relief pitchers did not allow them to score for the rest of the game. Another six runs crossed the plate for the Cobras in the game, and they secured the 9-2 win on the road. Seven Cobras collected two hits apiece in the win, and
Jax Hisle led the way with 3 RBI.

Tyler Tylka (4.0 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 2 K) started for Parkland, and
Lane Lorton (3.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K), Michael Boyce (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K) and
Cody DelFavero (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 1 K) each came on in relief for the Cobras.Â
