PERRYSBURG, Ohio — Parkland College volleyball capped off a dominant weekend at the Owens Invitational with two more sweeps on Sunday, defeating St. Johns River Community College (3-0) and Lansing Community College (3-0). The victory over Lansing marked a historic milestone, as head coach Cliff Hastings recorded his 800th career win.

In the opener, the Cobras handled St. John's River 25-19, 25-23, 25-22 behind a balanced attack. Addie Beekman led the way with 11 kills and 10 digs, while Shay McMillen added 15 kills on .583 hitting to pace the offense. Freshman Bella McKinney chipped in 10 kills, and setter Hailey Warfel dished out 34 assists while contributing 4 kills of her own. Defensively, libero Anna McEwen anchored the back row with 14 digs as Parkland controlled the tight sets to secure the sweep.

The milestone moment came in the finale against Lansing, where Parkland cruised to a 25-12, 25-17, 25-11 victory. Beekman again delivered with 10 kills and 16 digs, while Sammi Christman tallied 5 kills and 7 blocks at the net. McMillen added 8 kills, and Warfel ran the offense with 22 assists and 4 kills. McEwen added 12 digs in the back row, keeping Lansing's offense in check as the Cobras closed the tournament in style.

With the wins, Parkland finished the Owens Invitational undefeated and improved its season record to 14-0. Hastings, now with 800 career victories, continues to lead the Cobras as one of the winningest coaches in NJCAA volleyball history.
