GODFREY, Ill.—January 19, 2025— After back-to-back close losses, the No. 4 Parkland College men's basketball team responded with a steady and disciplined performance Monday afternoon, defeating Lewis & Clark Community College 75–63 on the road. The Cobras had three players score in double figures, led by Jaiden Martin's 19 points, with Chris Bush adding 12 and Jiovanny Garcia chipping in 10.Â
The Cobras controlled the tempo throughout the contest, executing on both ends of the floor and making timely plays to maintain separation down the stretch. Parkland's defensive effort limited Lewis & Clark's scoring opportunities while the offense capitalized on key possessions to close out the win.
Head coach John Bowler praised his team's resilience and toughness following the bounce-back win: "Proud of our guys today. It takes a lot of mental and physical toughness to play the schedule we have. Playing our third game in six days with some adversity from injuries shows the toughness of the guys in our locker room. We have another short turnaround and weed to carry our momentum from this forward into Wednesday."
With the victory, Parkland improves to 16–4 on the season and regains momentum heading back into conference play.
Up next, the Cobras return home to host Lincoln Land Community College on Tuesday, January 21, with tipoff scheduled for 7:30 PM CST.
