CHAMPAIGN, Ill.—January 28, 2025— The No. 11 Parkland College men's basketball team turned in an offensive showcase on Tuesday night, defeating John Wood Community College 98–68. The win lifts the Cobras to 18–4 on the season.
Chris Bush led all scorers with an impressive 32 points, pacing Parkland from start to finish. Jaiden Martin added 22 points and 5 rebounds, while Nick Harrell contributed 14 points and 5 rebounds as the Cobras continued to build separation throughout the night.
Parkland's balance was on full display, as Jiovanny Garcia turned in an efficient all-around performance with 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists, and Grant Chamberlain chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds.
The Cobras were especially sharp at the free throw line, shooting 81.8% (18-for-22), capitalizing on opportunities and maintaining control in key stretches of the game.
Adding to the energy inside the gym, players from the freshman and junior varsity Centennial High School boys' basketball teams were in attendance, providing enthusiastic support as Parkland delivered one of its most complete performances of the season.
With the victory, Parkland continues to build momentum heading into its next home test.
Up next, the Cobras will host Illinois Central College on February 4, with tipoff scheduled for 7:30 PM CST.
